Global Gastronomy at Garden City Perth

A four day Fresh Food festival celebrating flavour at its finest.

The placemaking initiative reinvigorated the Garden City Perth Market Place and catered to the centre’s increasing multicultural primary trade area demographic through a variety of cuisines and cultural experiences, cementing the centre as not just a destination for fashion but as a place for food.

Over the four days the centre transformed into an international bazaar of food and culture as Australia’s leading chefs including Guy Grossi, Marion Grasby, Russell Blaikie, Josh Catalano and Sue Lewis came together to plate up cuisines from around the world.

Retailers joined in the culinary celebrations offering customers a vast selection of delicious samples, special offers and cooking workshops across the four day festival. Customers were also given chef recipe cards to encourage them to recreate the chef recipes when at home using fresh food produce purchased from the centre. The first 500 customers who spent $50 or more at participating Fresh Food stores during the four days also claimed a FREE picinic cheese set valued at RRP $29.95

The event was a huge success both in-centre and online for Garden City with over $120,000 worth of PR achieved during the campaign, multiple retailers participated in the event hosting their own demonstrations and social media posts were a hit in showcasing the activity with over 1,000 likes on Instagram and over 200 comments received on Facebook.
