Karrinyup collaborated with The Salvation Army this August to bring added comfort, security and warmth to those who need it most – women and children escaping family violence. The campaign is titled ‘Feels Like Home’ and encourages visitors to the Centre to donate from a selected wish list of household items from Karrinyup retailers. Local stylist and blogger Kyree Harvey of @misskyreeloves has styled the campaign and will be leading the makeover day which will transform The Salvation Army refuge and also be filmed for YouTube.

Customers showed their support by visiting the ‘Feels Like Home’ display in Centre Court between Monday 8th August and Sunday 21st August. All donations over $10 receive a FREE ‘Feels Like Home’ calico shopping bag, plus for a gold coin donation customers can leave a message of encouragement on the giant HOME letters that will be given directly to the women and children in need. The campaign received significant PR with The Sunday Times and The West Australian. The campaign raised over $6,020 in cash donations which go direct to lifestyle retailer sales in order for us to donate over 500 essential household items to the refuge.
