Weirdly Wonderful Weekend at Macquarie Centre

A weekend to celebrate fashion and beauty with a twist.

Weirdly Wonderful Weekend at Macquarie Centre

A weekend to celebrate fashion and beauty with a twist.

Macquarie Centre has successfully partnered with the Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA) to become the naming rights sponsors of their new exhibition, ‘New Romance’. To celebrate this sponsorship the centre hosted a ‘Weirdly Wonderful Weekend’ bringing to life all things beauty and fashion—with a twist!

Inspiration was drawn from the MCA exhibition’s theme of ‘Art & The Post-Human’, its Korean origins and the artworks which explore everything weird and wonderful—from the futuristic, digital and robotic to K-pop and mad-scientist biology concepts.

Macquarie Centre held the event to highlight the amazing partnership opportunity we have with the MCA, as well as showcasing our beauty retailers and their breadth of offering. We achieved this through both in-centre and external events.

Macquarie Centre houses the best beauty offering under one roof, north of the bridge. Sephora, Chanel Beaute and Mecca Maxima are just some of the many beauty options available to shoppers. The MCA partnership and the Weirdly Wonderful event enabled the centre to showcase these brands and position the centre as a cultural hub.

The event featured exclusive retail offers and activations, from complimentary flavoured fairy floss to flamingo nail art, with shoppers lining up at multiple activities. The centre also hosted a Mcquarie Centre-branded Kombi Van as well as a glitter henna station. These activities and more attributed to fantastic retailer results across the weekend.
